Samual Barber's Adagio for Strings

This music touches me, to the core, every time I listen to it!

  1. It's actually Samual Barber's Adagio Op. 11 for strings

  2. Another one is Albinoni's Adagio in G Minor. Also "to the core".

  3. Albinoni....oh yes. That's a classic "mover" for the heart strings!

  4. Maybe "tugger" of the heart strings is a better way to say it?
Another one that always chokes me up is the last bit of Berlioz's Damnation of Faust. Joe and I heard it performed live and the last movement (the children's chorus) was over, we looked at each other...we were both in tears!!

  7. Crying is cathartic and cleansing for me

  8. How well I know about that! Now you have more ammunition in your stash, in case you need to get some more tears out.
