Dailure

The bar for what is considered good news is pretty low when I think it's great that Jordi's blood tests were "good". That made it okay for him to have round 2 of his chemo treatment. He was doing alright until he decided to take a three mile hike. Whatever was the man thinking!? And so he crashed at 7 pm. I just can't and don't want to try and imagine what it feels like to have that poison drip into my system. Certainly explains his somewhat out of sorts behavior.

Wait... he had his chemo on Tuesday?? Do they give him steroids before chemo? If so, those steroids make you feel pretty lively for about a day and a half, and sure enough, then you crash. Joe's nurse practitioner told us that she would not discourage Joe from exercise. If he felt like doing something and he thought he could do it, she said he should do it. He might pay for it later (as Jordi is likely to do), but she felt it was so good to get exercise, from a mental and physical point of view, that she would not discourage such ambitions. Don't know if I agree with that, but having been on chemo, I can say that doing a bit of exercise always made me feel better (a BIT of exercise... NEVER TRIED 3 MILES!)

By the way... no... you don't want to imagine what chemo feels like. It feels different than any other sicko feeling I have had, and it's very hard to explain it. Suffice it to say that it feels ICKY and you don't want to know more than that.

You're right. I don't want to know what "chemo feels like". I hope I didn't even insinuate that! I am not sure that they gave him steroids. Jordi is very independent these days, doesn't seem to want me to go with him, when they're doing the deed. And truth is I'm just as happy not to be there. It's sad. Other than feeling tired, and sleeping more than normal, and some stomach issues (which I'm sure are related to surgery) he feels "okay". He's not a complainer so it's hard to really know. Thanks for all your help Betsy!
