Daily Drag

This isn't a daily drag, it can be a monthly or monthsly drag, a cloud, which accompany's me wherever I go, at all times of day, the 'dark cloud' that I wake up and go to bed with. It almost 'hurts' sometimes; and the least provocation, a sad story, seeing someone else in pain, feeling the sting of mean words, can send me reeling. It can be a pit, in the bottom of my stomach or a lack of appetite. It's weight is stifling at times, my chest constricts and I have to remind myself to 'breathe'. Depression is no fun!

Pistachio Nuts!

I'm nuts for these nuts.  A while back they were 'tainted', tho', I never tasted a tainted nut.  I like them and eat them in a hut.  I eat them with a slut.  I would eat them while in a rut.  I eat them with ease and eat them in a breeze.

LEXULOUS

Okay, I'm turning into my mother.  With the help of a friend I am now playing Scrabble, on Facebook, with a 'robot' and I love it.  I consider this a Dailure and think it might stave off early on-set of Alzheimer's disease.  But it would be more fun to play with others.  So anyone reading this blog should try and get onto Facebook, if for no other reason you can play Scrabble with others and save some brain cells.

Grilled Dogs!

I know I know they're sooooo bad for you but I do enjoy a good grilled hot dog; no ketchup, lots of brown mustard and onions. It's a wonderful dailure.

Goudstikker and They Call Me Meyer July

Two exhibits at the Jewish Museum are worth seeing, the recollected works of Goudstikker and They Call Me Meyer July.  One was as different as the other.  Goudstikker's recollected works were Dutch Masters and Renaissance works which had been repossessed by Goudstikker's grandchildren after World War II.  And They Call Me Meyer July were paintings by an untrained Polish Holocaust survivor.  But each one was poignant and significant because of their stories.  What a tragic and ironic ending for Goudstikker, who had survived the Nazi invasion into Amsterdam but died, on the freighter ship, en route to North America.  The irony was he died falling down a hatch, on the ship, while taking a walk.

God of Carnage

We had tickets, yesterday, for the play, God of Carnage.  Truthfully, I haven't laughed that hard in a looooong time.  We had third row, center seats.  I could see James Gandofini's, Marcia Gay Harden, Hope Davis and Jeff Daniel's nose hairs!  What a job of acting!  All four have been nominated for a Tony award.  It was one of the best plays I've ever seen.

New York!

I'm going to New York, tomorrow, just for the weekend. This may be an instance where my anticipation is met by reality. I do love going there and am always amazed at the energy level I maintain. My mother, 80, is also going and we manage to pack so much in in a very short amount of time. This weekend; Friday, Saturday and Sunday, we will take in a couple of plays, museums and good restaurants. In three days we can cover a lot of ground.

Daily Poll, Anticipation?

Here's my question:  Is the anticipation of eating a really good meal met by eating that meal?  I know, when I'm really hungry, I imagine what it will taste like.  It's usually not as good as what I had imagined. What do you think?

Stretch drinking with her paw

We have this craaaaazy cat. Sometimes she will just do back flips for the heck of it. She lies on the dining room table, as if she's queen of the castle, and then she'll randomly get up, walk over to a water glass and start dipping in her paw, to drink water. She's utterly 'human'.

Ellen Degeneres Show

I can't always watch it but I do like the Ellen Degeneres show; it's fun, as an interviewer, I think she asks, thoughtful and sometimes provocative questions and I do like it when she dances. I would actually like to be her, it would be fun and rewarding to be able to give away gobs of money to people who need it. She doesn't placate or get sophomoric like some talk show people. She's fresh, funny and fantastic!
