Dailure-Baking Bread

Baking bread used to be something I would do on an almost daily basis (I actually did a lot of bread baking in college, to help pay rent). And there is nothing like the smell and taste of freshly baked bread. So I started, yesterday and all those memories came rushing back: cold Wisconsin days, bread in the oven, hot chocolate on the stove, and maybe a good stew or lentil soup, in the making. I am going to try and bake bread more often. The kids ate it last night, warm with butter. Yum.

Oh YUM! Do you have an easy, no-fail recipe to pass on? That sounds like a perfect thing to do over my Christmas break, especially once Alexandra gets home.

OMG, it's the easiest thing in the world! I'm going to try different recipes because I'm not sure the one I used (on the Whole Wheat flour bag) is the best. I think, with bread, it's trial and error. There are some factors involved, in the making of really good bread; oven calibration, altitude (we have none), kneading time and ingredients. But seriously, Sally, just do it, it's fun!
